Just ahead of the front door affixed to the A post is a drainage/drip channel which may have a length of shiny trim attached. This metal drainage channel frequently rots away at the bottom becoming detached from the body-shell.

Some people just grind away the channel in this area to stop the rot. But this then allows road spray to creep into the cabin around the front door’s lower corner causing corrosion to the floor internally.

Best to cut off cleanly & drill out the spot welds holding the defunct drip/drainage channel and slot in a SPOG new one with plug welds to secure.
