The 8th Auld Alliance Rugby Run through Edinburgh to celebrate the France v Scotland in the Six Nations Championship at Murrayfield stadium. Match Kicks Off at 2.10pm but you don’t need to be going to the match to take part. Just a fun drive through the streets of Edinburgh as the fans on both sides walk to the stadium. Edinburgh has an LEZ zone that you need to be aware of, but if your vehicle is registered as ‘historic’ then you are exempt from charges. We will start in the village of Kyle of Lochalsh on the north west coast of Scotland, head over to Applecross via the historic and winding mountain pass “Bealach na Bà” continuing along the northwest coast through Torridon, Gairloch, Aultbea, Dundonnell and eventually back to Conon Bridge. Approx 90 mile scenic run in the Highlands on scenic and narrow single track roads including the exciting corkscrew at Inverfarigaig (steep 1st gear narrow hairpins) and high passes. Lodge Farm is a camping/caravanning and shepherd hut venue with an amazing cafe and shop. The camping set up is adult only but everything to do with the event is open to children. They hold many motor events through the year.

We will have a large show field area for our cars to be parked and for viewing. So…

At New Lodge Farm accommodation is available for people who would like it. Obviously it is a restricted amount and it is first come first served. They are happy to give a 10% discount on the accommodation/camping site for anyone who wants to stay there for the weekend. To be arranged by the individual quoting “2CV26”. There is B&B and other accommodation around the area too.

Friday 24th
People can book accommodation although the event is Saturday and Sunday.
Arrive anytime. Just settle in.
The cafe will be open all day. A group evening meal will be arranged at the cafe for anyone staying that night. Booking will be required in advance.

Saturday 25th
General set up for the day from 9 am.
Visitors from 10am.
Car entrance fee for displaying their vehicle and map for the drive will be £15 per vehicle for the day. Payable on arrival at the entrance.
We are able to have stalls if people want to run one @ £15 per 8ft stall. Bric a Brack, books, auto jumble, things like that.
No big commercial or food/drink or ice cream stalls will be allowed. Stalls will need booking in advance. No electricity on site but WiFi is available.

We are arranging a drive of about two hours duration from 12 noon around the Stamford area and up to the Harringworth Viaduct. Returning back to New lodge.

Again the cafe will be open all day.

From 5 pm to 7 pm I have arranged for entertainment: A well known blues artist.

He is a an American blues artist who over the last 20 years has been playing at the Glastonbury and Latitude festivals as well as other venues.

Evening Pizza available from 6 to 8 pm booking needed in advance.

Sunday 26th
The cars will be on show through the day. No Stalls on the field today as the Stilton Classic Car Club will also be on the field with their cars through the day for viewing.

The cafe is open again all day. It does an amazing Sunday lunch. (Booking needed in advance for Sunday Lunch)

National Drive It Day was created by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs in 2005.  It is the occasion when historic vehicle enthusiasts and the public at large have the opportunity to celebrate the One Thousand Mile Trial organised in 1900 to prove the viability of the new invention, the motor vehicle. It’s also a chance to raise awareness and support amongst the public for the historic vehicle movement and keeping transport heritage on UK roads.

Drive-It Day is a great day to get your A-Series out. Contact your Local Group to find out what they have planned for this day.

Our 13th annual Drive-it Day run with the York Historic Vehicle Group (YHVG). Event starts near York racecourse on the Knavesmire (YO23 1EX) from 09:30 with the drive out starting at 10:00. After a brief countryside tour, the vehicles arrive at Sherburn Aero Club (LS25 6JE), near The Motorist Car Centre. The airfield has an excellent café and room to display your A-Series. Following the success of this year’s trip to France we are planning to return in 2026.

This time we plan on visiting the Normandy and Brittany areas of France. Stopping near Avranches, we are planning a number of days out to places such as Dinan and Fougeres.

Dates are Sunday 24th May to Friday 29th May 2026. We will be using Brittany ferries to cross.

For those who have never taken their cars to France and are nervous don’t be. We will pair anyone inexperienced up with an experienced driver.

From Thursday 11th June to Monday 15th we return to the tried and tested Riverside Campsite in the Yorkshire Dales at Cononley (BD20 8LX) – come for as long as you want. Find out more about the campsite here: https://riversidecampsite.co.uk/

There will be fish, chips and beer on the Friday night, a run out on the Saturday morning and a share your plate supper on the Saturday. There will be a small marquee so bring your table and chairs. We will have a raffle to be drawn on the Sunday. If you don’t camp please still not come for the day on the Saturday. But please let us know because we don’t want to leave you behind.

If you don’t want to camp, Skipton and Keighley are not far away and have lots of B & B options. The train to both stops outside the campsite so no danger of drinking and driving.

In the village is a small shop and 2 pubs both of which serve real ales and food

We will be holding our first camping weekend from Friday 19^th to Monday 22^nd June 2026 at Apple Orchard campsite in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. This site was the venue for the very successful Registers’ Day 2025.

Set in peaceful countryside the venue offers onsite catering and a bar. Lots of free hot showers, electric hook up, children’s play area and not forgetting Dennis the donkey and his friends. 

The cost is £25 per pitch per night with an extra £5 if you require a hook up.

Hollowell Steam and Heavy Horse Show

In 2026 the Hollowell Steam and Heavy Horse Show hopes to attract over 40,000 visitors with over 800 exhibitors & traders and a couple of hundred volunteer helpers to help you enjoy the show. We have a great selection of vehicles, horses, trade stall and attractions to keep the family entertained all day.

Our ‘staff’ are all unpaid volunteers, we own or borrow most of the equipment used in the set up and running of the show so as much of your cash as possible can be given away to local charities and good causes. We are proud to be able to say we make sure that your entrance fee is not used on unnecessary expenses.

If you get tired of walking around the exhibits you can always sit down and enjoy one of the best views in Northamptonshire, dogs and even children are more than welcome, and the whole atmosphere is we hope very informal and friendly.

Registers’ Day – 4th July

Registers’ Day, which is when voting will take place, is Saturday 4th July but 2CVGB vehicles can be included on both days. Entry is free if you include your car in the Registers’ line-up but there are a few things to know:

• All vehicles must be pre-registered – no registration on the day.
• Vehicles have to be in the lineup from 10am till 5pm and cannot leave apart from for the arena drive (see below).
• If vehicles are displayed across both days you can camp and camping’s free.
• Camping is available from Thursday 2nd to Monday 6th July.
• People only attending one day cannot camp.
• As this is not a 2CVGB event, there won’t be a flea market.
• To join the event you must register in advance – see below. This is so we can provide detail to the Steam Fair organisers to publish in their programme.

If you don’t want to show your vehicle or don’t pre-register you may pay on the day as a visitor.

Excitingly, we have been given the honour of an arena drive if there are enough A-Series vehicles on site. This will be a great opportunity to talk to the people and show them all our vehicles in one central location.

There is a bar available across the weekend. This is open from Friday, all day Saturday & Sunday until close. Permanent toilets and Portaloos are available and also permanent showers next to the camping field.

The closing date for registration is 20^th May 2026 and passes will be sent to you as a pack.

Conditions of Entry

By entering Registers’ Day and completing the checkout process for tickets, you agree to the following terms & conditions:

• For the whole period of the rally you will be covered by the relevant insurance for you exhibit, vehicles, caravan / living van, trailers, etc, having a limit of indemnity of not less than £5,000,000 for any one accident. Proof of insurance will be available for spot check inspection during the rally.
• The organisers of Hollowell Steam & Heavy Horse Show 2026 cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to any person or property during the event.
• Your data will be used in line with Hollowell Steam & Heavy Horse Show Data Protection.

Forty years of sun, sea and 2CV

The Wessex Ducks are camping again at the seaside, 17th to 19th July. Acton Camping Field, Langton Matravers, nr. Swanage, Dorset, BH19 3BN. With lovely views over the Purbecks, the site has basic facilities accepting tents, caravans and motorhomes. Electric hook ups are available but are limited. Citrons Amers 2CV club will once again be having a stand at South Cerney.

The event is happening over the weekend of 31st to 2nd August with arrivals from the 30th.
